A building permit is an official approval to proceed with a construction project. It is intended to ensure that the project plans comply with local standards for land use, zoning, and construction. Contact Community Development at 303.833.2317 x128 to find out if your project requires a building permit.
The City of Dacono requires permits for indoor or outdoor structural work, freestanding structures (such as a fence, shed, or pool), or major changes to the living area of a home. The permit process ensures that minimum safety standards are met and that construction meets local building and zoning requirements. Make sure you understand the building codes and local ordinances before proceeding with a major improvement project. All commercial and multi-family projects require permits. For more information, contact the Community Development Department at 303.833.2317 ext 128.
Building permit fees are based on the type of work and an adopted valuation schedule. Contact the Department of Community Development at 303.833.2317 x128 for more information.
All contractors must be licensed by the City and pay an annual contractor’s license fee. Electricians do not need to purchase a City license but must be registered with the City.
