The Carbon Valley Veterans Memorial is located at SH52 and Colorado Blvd. This memorial was constructed to honor Veterans throughout the Carbon Valley who have served during a time of conflict or non-conflict, and been honorably discharged.
Wall of Honor
The Wall of Honor recognizes Carbon Valley Veterans. Veterans, or their families, seeking to have a name placed on the Wall of Honor should obtain an application from the City of Dacono. Veterans must have a connection to the Carbon Valley area, but current residency is not required. Possible connections are resident of Dacono, Firestone or Frederick, former resident of Dacono, Firestone, or Frederick, lived in Carbon Valley area. The Veteran's name, branch of service, and dates of service will be on the wall.
In addition to the application, a copy of the DD-214 form, Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty, is required with the submittal to verify military service. All documentation will be verified. Go to National Archives for assistance obtaining documentation.
Currently, there is no cost to have a Veteran’s name placed on the Wall of Honor. There will also be opportunities to help support the project through donor tiles on the seat walls. Pricing and sizing options will be available soon.
Names are no longer being accepted for Phase I of the Wall of Honor. Applications received will be placed on the Wall of Honor in 2018.
The Carbon Valley Veterans Memorial dedication is scheduled for Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.
